ACE COMBAT 8 mission preparation checklist

A useful mission note explains what you tried, under which conditions, and what happened. This checklist is an editorial workflow, not a claim about a specific mission's optimal route.

Read the briefing first

Write down the mission label, difficulty and game version exactly as they appear in your game. Keep required objectives separate from optional goals so a score target does not replace the actual win condition.

Record your loadout

Note the aircraft, weapon choices and relevant upgrades used in an attempt. Change one decision at a time when comparing results. Read the loadout notes guide for a compact comparison template.

Capture the result screen

Record the actual rank, score and displayed completion time. If you used a retry or checkpoint, preserve that fact in your notes rather than assuming how it affected scoring.

Does this checklist guarantee an S rank?+

No. It helps you make comparable records. A rank prediction would need verified rules for the exact mission and conditions.
