You play Rex, the new Wings of Theve, leading Joker Flight from the carrier Endurance. This reference starts with the opening premise and official character introductions. Later identities and character outcomes are in the closed spoiler section below. Reviewed October 18, 2026.

Who is Rex?

In Bandai Namco's opening setup, you inherit Jan Cope's Rex identity after his death. Cope was the original Wings of Theve. The replacement preserves a symbol of hope for the Federation of Central Usea, fighting Sotoa from the Endurance.

Read “Wings of Theve” as an inherited identity when following dialogue. A reference to the old Wings does not necessarily describe the player character's own past. This distinction helps make sense of why the crew's expectations can exceed what the new pilot knows.

Joker Flight and the Endurance crew

These are introductory roles. The table does not reveal later changes in formation or character outcomes. Joker numbers below describe the initial player-led flight, rather than every sortie.

On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to read every column. Keyboard users can focus the table and use the left and right arrow keys.

The Joker lineup is documented in the official introduction. The publisher's profiles describe Kate protecting pilots despite her own strain, Pike managing personnel shortages, Jenkins bringing frontline maintenance experience, and Santos advocating for casualties.

A useful reading order is: identify the speaker, identify their flight or carrier duty, then check whether the scene concerns a combat objective or a personal relationship. A callsign, a formation position and an Assault Record name can refer to different aspects of the same person. The database helps with collection names; it does not track story choices.

Shadow 22 and Moon 11

Shadow 22 is Girish Toprak, callsign Ares, leader of Lux Lunae's 22nd Unit. Moon 11 is Carmille Tewy, also associated with Selene, the senior commander linked to the X-40 Nightmare. They are different people, not two names for one boss. The Mission 28 guide covers the Shadows encounter; aircraft ownership is a separate subject in the unlock guide.

What happens to Baxter?

The Baxter biography describes him shielding Rex from Tewy's railgun attack, reaching the Endurance, then dying from his wounds. His return to the carrier is therefore not a surviving ending. The same account places Coster in the Joker 2 position afterward. We have no verified alternate survival route to recommend; do not treat a better mission score as evidence of one.

What happens to Kate?

The Kate biography distinguishes her apparent loss from her later return: Savian mercenaries rescue her, she rejoins the fighting during Operation Locust Purge, and she survives into the post-war sequence as King 1. A clip ending at her shootdown omits that later context. Her fate should not be inferred from Baxter's different outcome.

Keep story questions separate from unlocks

A character appearing in a scene does not establish a playable aircraft, cosmetic entitlement or alternate ending condition. Use the aircraft tree for acquisition and the medal roadmap for rewards. For music heard during a scene, use the soundtrack guide and identify the release before relying on an upload title.

Is this a spoiler-free character list?

The opening premise and introductory crew table avoid late-story outcomes. The expandable panel contains major spoilers. Linked wiki and mission pages may reveal more immediately.

Are Rex and Jan Cope the same person?

No. The official opening premise describes the player inheriting Cope's identity and title. Keeping the original pilot and his successor separate explains the setup.
