ACE COMBAT ZERO Bonus: Steam Access & Standalone Status
Check ACE COMBAT ZERO preorder eligibility, the October 13 Steam standalone plan, current launch guidance and the limits of the announced save-sharing plan.

The October 13 Steam notice concerns players who already obtained ACE COMBAT ZERO as an AC8 preorder bonus. It does not grant the bonus to new buyers. Reviewed October 18, 2026. A standalone application plan is not evidence of a standalone retail release.
What the latest reviewed notice says
About ACE COMBAT ZERO: THE BELKAN WAR ③ says the Steam standalone application is undergoing final QA and compatibility testing. At the time of that notice, eligible players access ZERO through AC8. The publisher expects both access methods to coexist and save data to be shared through Steam Cloud; timing and distribution details are still to follow.
This is a Steam-specific, dated status. It does not confirm the standalone application's public release, a new purchase option, or equivalent changes on PlayStation or Xbox. Check the official announcement feed before treating an older post or forum reply as current release guidance.
Which situation applies to you?
On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to read every column. Keyboard users can focus the table and use the left and right arrow keys.
| Your situation | What the notice establishes | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| You already have the preorder bonus on Steam | You are within the announced change's scope | Check the owning Steam account and latest official instructions |
| You bought AC8 after preorder eligibility ended | This change does not newly grant ZERO | Do not buy an upgrade solely on that assumption |
| You expect a separate Steam library application | A standalone version is planned; this notice gives no release date | Wait for the distribution announcement |
| You play on a console | This Steam notice does not define your launch method | Use your platform's own entitlement and publisher instructions |
The table applies the notice to common questions. It does not verify any individual account's entitlement.
Checking access without losing the distinction
Start with the account and purchase record that actually received the bonus. Check your installed game and official updates, then follow the supported AC8 access method described by the publisher until a later notice confirms the separate application's delivery. Merely owning AC8 or seeing ZERO in a promotional image is insufficient to establish ownership.
If the existing AC8 launch fails, distinguish an entitlement issue from AC8 failing to start. Our PC crash and Error 01 guide covers the latter; it cannot add a missing preorder license. Keep the exact error and purchase context when checking the publisher's official help information.
What about saves?
The October 13 notice describes Steam Cloud sharing as expected behavior for the planned change. It is not a verified migration procedure. This page therefore supplies no manual file-copy path, deletion step or guarantee that a save has already synchronized between versions. Check the eventual release instructions before moving progress.
The announcement history shows why dates matter: the October 2 follow-up described evaluation of a distribution change; October 13 advanced to final testing. Neither wording supplies the missing launch date. A later explicit release notice would supersede this snapshot.
ZERO music and the ZERO game
The ZERO Remastered 2026 soundtrack is a music release. Streaming or purchasing that album does not establish a game license. Likewise, the AC8 player survey is feedback collection, not a way to obtain the preorder bonus.
Can I buy AC8 now and receive ZERO through this change?
The October 13 notice explicitly limits this change to existing preorder-bonus owners. It does not announce new eligibility or a separate retail offer.
Has the standalone Steam version launched?
The latest notice reviewed for this page, dated October 13, describes final testing and says release details will follow. We have not verified a later release announcement as of October 18, 2026.
