ACE COMBAT 8 Online: Blueprints, Levels & ACE PASS
Understand ACE COMBAT 8 online aircraft progression, blueprint requirements and ACE PASS tiers, with mode limits, reward checks and practical upgrade planning.

Online progression is separate from Campaign. An owned campaign aircraft, MRP balance or campaign S rank does not establish the corresponding online unlock. Start by identifying which progress bar or resource is blocking the next action.
Official mode/pass information and a labeled player blueprint report were reviewed October 19. This is an upgrade-planning guide, not a live reward-rate calculator.
Rank, aircraft level and pass level
The official Online guide distinguishes mercenary rank, which opens aircraft access, from aircraft levels, which improve the aircraft and unlock abilities. ACE PASS progresses through online play. Campaign progress is separate.
| What you are checking | What to inspect before another sortie |
|---|---|
| Aircraft not available | Mercenary-rank and acquisition conditions in the online menu |
| Owned aircraft will not upgrade | Its current level/cap, required materials and currency |
| Pass reward unavailable | Current season, pass level, free/premium track and claim state |
| Cosmetic absent in a mode | Exact item and mode eligibility in the skin guide |
Write down the missing requirement, not just “need more XP.” A match can advance one system without completing the other requirement you wanted.
Aircraft-specific and general-purpose blueprints
Secret Agent Cow's October 6 firsthand explanation distinguishes aircraft-specific blueprints from general-purpose blueprints used additionally for later cap upgrades. The player reports obtaining general-purpose blueprints from the pass, challenges and limited daily Scramble/Emergency Sortie rewards. This is community evidence; the reviewed official pages do not establish a universal current daily cap or reset time.
Before spending, open the intended aircraft's upgrade screen and compare each required material with your balance. Treat two listed blueprint types as separate requirements; do not assume one substitutes for the other. Check the reward description before repeating a mission for a material it may not award.
Our planning approach: choose one aircraft you enjoy, note the next upgrade's complete cost, then compare that benefit with keeping scarce materials for another eligible aircraft. This avoids spreading resources simply because several upgrade buttons are visible.
Missions and special opportunities
The official guide describes Co-Op Assault as PvE score competition and Co-Op Warfare as opposing squads with NPC forces. After either, limited opportunities may appear: four-player Scramble against an NPC squad or eight-player Emergency Sortie against a superweapon. These are not documented as an always-available manual queue.
When planning rewards, check the mission actually offered, its listed reward and any remaining reward allowance. If matchmaking or an error blocks entry, use online error troubleshooting; an upgrade requirement is a different problem from a failed connection.
Season 1 ACE PASS choices
The October 1 official announcement confirms a free reward track, a Premium track with additional rewards and Morgan–PIXY, and Premium Plus unlocking the first 30 of 100 levels. Blueprints appear on both tracks. The advertised 500 Ace Coins total requires completing both Free and Premium tracks, not Free alone.
The announcement says to redeem Season 1 for Morgan before the end of November; it does not provide an exact cutoff timezone. Check the live in-game season timer. The edition FAQ says the Deluxe voucher can be saved for one later season; Morgan's Campaign use requires completing all campaign missions.
Before redeeming a voucher, confirm the selected season and what that track actually contains. Buying a higher tier is not a troubleshooting step for an unidentified missing material. Read the preview and separate included rewards from rewards still requiring progression.
A useful end-of-session check
Record the aircraft used, mercenary progress, aircraft level/cap, relevant blueprint balances and next intended upgrade. Recheck any claimed pass reward in the appropriate menu. This makes it possible to distinguish a delayed display, a different reward type and an unmet condition without inventing an hourly farming rate.
Campaign MRP routes belong in the MRP farming guide, not this online resource plan.
Do campaign aircraft and upgrades carry into Online?
The publisher describes separate progression. Inspect the online acquisition and upgrade requirements instead of assuming campaign ownership grants the online version.
Are general-purpose blueprints interchangeable with aircraft blueprints?
The cited player describes them as an additional requirement for certain upgrades. Check both rows on your current upgrade screen; this guide does not promise substitution or a universal cost table.
Does Premium Plus instantly finish the entire pass?
The Season 1 announcement specifies the first 30 of 100 levels. It does not describe all 100 as immediately completed.
