ACE COMBAT 8 Mission 3 S-Rank & Raia Guide

Review Mission 3 score references, separate bomber interception from a score attempt, and use bounded diagnostics with a linked Raia collection checklist.

For Mission 3, Purple Magic Takes Flight, choose whether this attempt is primarily about a score result or Raia. The priorities can differ. Use the scoring reference for a debrief, and the separate collection checklist for a record you actually confirmed in the game. Neither tool detects a successful flight automatically.

Decide what to prioritize

StormXTS suggests attacking the fighters before the bombers when seeking additional destruction score, because allies can remove those scoring opportunities. Piyoko's Raia account instead emphasizes intercepting the bombers before they reach the base. These are attributed suggestions for different goals, not a single proven optimal route.

For your next attempt, write down the primary goal before launching. A collection attempt should not be judged solely by a lower score, and a score attempt should not be described as a failed ace hunt if that was never its objective. Finishing the required mission objectives remains more useful than chasing a speculative extra target and losing the sortie.

A practical comparison is to keep the same aircraft and change only the opening target priority. Record the result of the whole flight, not just the most successful engagement. This is our suggested testing method; it is not a claim that the game guarantees a particular outcome after a certain sequence of button presses.

How much score depends on the time bonus?

Subtract the listed maximum bonus from the target: 16,500 − 3,000 = 13,500. This is the destruction score that would exactly meet the listed target in the maximum-bonus scenario. It is not a safe universal target: the bonus can be lower, the patch is unmatched, and the diagnostic excludes unknown deductions.

For a hypothetical 14,000 destruction score and 16:00 result time, the reference scenario totals 17,000, a margin of 500. At 20:00, that same score produces only a range of 14,000–17,000 in this tool. The range crosses the target, so it cannot resolve your grade.

After the reported zero-bonus point, the reference adds no time bonus. Conversely, a destruction score already above the target is less dependent on this particular bonus, but still does not prove that every condition of the game's grade has been satisfied. This page never replaces the actual result screen.

Keep loadout experiments comparable

There is no tested best aircraft attached to this page. Instead, identify what made your own attempt slow: reaching an engagement, finishing a target, or returning after an unnecessary chase. Changing every part of a loadout at once makes the comparison difficult to interpret.

Record the weapon you used, where ammunition became limiting, and whether your next change improved the complete attempt. Avoid crediting a new loadout for a run that also changed difficulty, retry history and target order. The local log accepts your notes without treating them as public game data.

Raia collection is a separate result

The checklist describes a community-reported condition. It does not infer Raia's appearance from your score or elapsed time. Open the linked sources for the original account; then confirm your own Assault Record before marking the entry complete.

Use destruction score from the completed run. Do not enter MRP, total rewards, or a score already including a time bonus.

Reference target: 16,500 · Maximum bonus: 3,000 · 16:20–27:20

Only the stated Ace / Free Mission, no-checkpoint-retry scenario is supported. A result inside the decay interval remains a bound: endpoint values alone do not establish the precise decay curve. Enter destruction score, not MRP or a total that already contains a bonus.

Save what actually happened

Record Mission 3 after checking the game's result screen. The form prefills the task name only. Compare it with your next attempt using the same conditions, and export your local log before clearing browser data.

Does missing Raia prove I cannot get S rank?

This implementation does not make that claim. The score diagnostic and the collection checklist describe different observations; neither certifies the other.

Can the calculator tell me the exact bonus at 20 minutes?

No. It has not validated the curve or its rounding. A range crossing the target remains uncertain rather than becoming a guessed pass or fail.
