ACE COMBAT 8 Mission 8: Theve II & Tessera Guide
Plan Mission 8 Retaking of Theve II with the reported Tessera ground-target condition, phase priorities and score bounds without assuming an exact timer.

In Mission 8, Retaking of Theve II, decide whether the opening is a Tessera hunt or simply a clear before you rush the objective. The reported ace condition concerns non-TGT surface weapons. A large destruction score alone does not prove that this particular group has been cleared.
Tessera: a target-group condition, not a score threshold
Piyoko describes clearing the opening non-TGT surface weapons before the landing moves the mission forward; Rafly lists the same target class without a fixed timer. Do not reinterpret this as all decorative objects, all aircraft or a requirement to reach a particular destruction score.
The distinction is useful even without a complete map. Make your own sweep consistent enough that you know which area you checked and which was left unexamined. A repeated look at the same cleared area is not evidence that a different cluster contains no remaining weapon.
A clean confirmation separates three observations: the relevant group was cleared, Tessera appeared, and the game saved the resulting Assault Record. Only the last observation should become a checked collection entry. Our tool does not read the radar or compare a screenshot with every possible target.
Phase priorities without a fictional spawn clock
StormXTS highlights surface attacks and warns that pursuing minor targets can leave bombers free to damage your ground forces. PowerPyx's later-stage outline alternates ground-threat cleanup with a switch to incoming bombers. These are credited strategic observations, not our tested optimal timings.
| Point in your attempt | Suggested decision | Avoid assuming |
|---|---|---|
| Opening collection attempt | Review the non-TGT surface-weapon group before advancing | That any high score proves the group is complete |
| Named aircraft observed | Separate the ace engagement from final record confirmation | That appearance alone earns the collection |
| Ground forces need cover | Look for the threat currently affecting their objective | That the target nearest your aircraft is always the most important |
| Bombers join the fight | Reassess the value of finishing an optional detour | A universal minute at which the same event must occur |
| Mission ends | Save the awarded rank and inspect the collection record | That a tool's estimate is an in-game result |
This is a decision aid rather than an exact route. It intentionally does not assign directions or clock times to every wave. A sensible comparison between attempts uses the same objective stage, not a timestamp copied from someone else's recording.
Mission 8 score reference
Source review: 2026-10-13 . No exact game patch is matched. The linked numerical references share one data lineage, not independent verification.
| Reported S-rank total target | 36,900 |
|---|---|
| Maximum reported time bonus | 7,000 |
| Reported decay starts | 22:30 |
| Reported zero-bonus point | 26:50 |
| Tool reference scope | Ace / Free Mission |
| Exact curve inside the interval | Unconfirmed; no linear interpolation |
The figures retain the site's existing community-data status. StormXTS's scoring table cites LmanYan95, so agreement between them is not independent extraction. No exact game patch or undocumented penalty has been matched to this tool.
Work out whether time can close the gap
At the maximum listed bonus, the arithmetic boundary is 36,900 − 7,000 = 29,900 destruction points. This does not mean 29,900 guarantees S: it relies on the reference, its scope, the maximum award and no unsupported adjustment.
| Hypothetical destruction score | Result time | Reference total | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| 29,000 | 22:00 | 36,000 | Still short by 900 at the listed maximum |
| 30,000 | 22:00 | 37,000 | Only 100 over the listed target |
| 30,000 | 24:00 | 30,000–37,000 | Bonus-dependent; the exact result is uncertain |
| 37,000 | 27:00 | 37,000 | Above the reference with no time award |
These examples make two different problems visible. The first cannot be solved inside this model just by getting faster, because it already assumes the largest listed bonus. The second has very little numerical margin and should not be treated as a robust prediction across unknown patch or rounding differences.
The third is not halfway to a known result. Knowing when a bonus begins and ends does not establish how it changes between those times. Our tool shows bounds rather than inventing an interpolation curve. The fourth still says nothing about an unrecorded retry or a failed objective.
A focused next-attempt plan
If your problem is missing Tessera, review the reported target class and objective transition first. Do not start by adding random aircraft kills: they may increase points without addressing the stated condition. Check the named target and final record separately.
If your problem is a low rank after a successful clear, record the actual score and time, then use the diagnostic's stated scope. Decide whether the gap is below even the maximum reference total or falls inside the uncertain band. Those cases deserve different follow-up observations.
If your problem is losing ground forces, preserve objective awareness before chasing a numerical target. Compare where and when the situation became unsafe. A plan that maximizes a score only in the attempts that survive may be less useful than one you can finish consistently.
Choose one of these problems for the next run. Keeping them separate makes your notes actionable and prevents one unsuccessful collection experiment from being mistaken for a scoring-rule failure.

Mission score range diagnostic
Not tested in-game by this site or matched to a game patch. Limited to the Ace / Free Mission reference. Retry penalties, other modes and difficulties are unsupported. Inside decay, only bounds are shown.
Record the game result in My Progress and confirm Tessera separately. Neither action uploads a save file or synchronizes automatically to another device; export a backup before clearing browser data.
Is there a fixed five-minute Tessera deadline?
The references reviewed for this entry do not establish one. A video's elapsed time is not a universal deadline. The page keeps the reported target group and stage condition instead.
Does clearing all visible ground objects meet the condition?
The reported class is non-TGT surface weapons, not every object. Without a verified complete target map, this site cannot certify a clear from a description or final score.
